In the area where I shot, one of the greatest fears is when woodsmen erase areas of planted forest. But what I see is one more attempt to create grids, alignment, symmetry. After the woodsmen have finished, you get a piece of Robert Smithson for free: the entropy realised by horsepower encased within machinery that\u2019s too efficient.
\nIt was just at the bottom of a hill, on a curve, and the cut revealed the verticality of the firs behind.

\nTheir designs are held in some of the world\u2019s most coveted permanent collections, exhibitions have been devoted to their work, and monographs have been published, cataloguing some of their outstanding creations.
\nIn recent years, the duo have expanded their repertoire into the public realm, bringing modern relevance to historic sites such as Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection (Paris, 2021) and the Champs-Elys\u00e9es fountains (Paris, 2019).
